Cake Smash photography sessions are a fun way to mark the milestone of your little one’s first birthday. A natural and timeless photography style allows the photos to truly celebrate everything about your little one at this age.
A professionally made semi-naked cake as well as a personalised acrylic cake topper are provided complimentary with your session.

PRICING
A £50 deposit is required at the time of booking in order to secure your date in the diary. The deposit is non-refundable, but is transferable to another date if rearranged within 48 hours of your current booking. Weekend photoshoots are available for an additional fee of £95.

ON THE DAY OF YOUR CAKE SMASH PHOTOSHOOT
A Cake Smash photography session lasts for up to 90 minutes and takes place in the Studio, which is easily accessible from Colchester via the A120 or A133.
During the session, I start by taking portrait images with the use of ONE letters, followed by the cake smash where I capture the excitement on your little ones face when seeing, exploring and smashing the cake. The session is then finished with a fun splash bath, which allows for more beautiful images as well as to also get your little one clean!
In my experience, not all children want to eat the cake and therefore we make the session as fun and sensory as possible with the addition of a wooden spoon and bubbles.

Part of the Honeysuckle Photography Experience includes a bespoke service where I provide you with Digital Room Views of your own home. Room views make it easy for you to visualise your photos on your walls. Together we will choose the type of wall art that will fit beautifully in your home and your desired space.

YOUR QUESTIONS
A semi-naked cake with buttercream frosting is included complimentary in the cake smash session. The cake is produced by Natasha from Flour Power Cakes who is a professional cake maker and is 5 star registered with the local authority, with up to date food safety certification and is fully insured for your peace of mind.
I have either natural wood or white cake stands available for use in the session and you will also receive a complimentary personalised cake topper with your little ones name on it as a keepsake.
I recommend dressing your baby in white or neutral outfits with their legs and arms uncovered. At this age, it is very cute to capture any little leg rolls and to see their hands and feet covered in cake! Please bear in mind that cake smash sessions can sometimes get very messy and even the parents might end up wearing a little cake or some bubble bath depending on how much fun your baby has splashing around.
Approx 1 week after your session you will come back to the studio for your Image Reveal Appointment. You will see your images for the first time via a music slideshow on a big screen in the studio.
